Grooming Policies
Cancellations
If you need to change or cancel your appointment, we respectfully request a minimum of 48 hours notice. If notice is given less than 48 hours before your appointment time, a $50 cancellation fee per pet will apply.
No shows will be responsible for the $50 cancellation fee plus a 50% deposit will be required to schedule a new appointment. Please be aware that if you are more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to provide the service for which you have been scheduled for and a cancellation fee will apply.
Owner Presence During Grooming
For the safety and well-being of all pets, owners are not permitted to stay with their pet during the grooming process. This helps ensure a focused and calm environment for your pet.
Waiting:
You are welcome to wait in your car or make other arrangements until your pet’s grooming session is complete. We will notify you as soon as your pet is ready for pickup.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide a stress-free grooming experience for your pet.
Salon Drop-Off & Pickup Policy
To ensure that each pet receives the highest level of care, we operate with a low-volume business model where each time slot is reserved exclusively for your pet. Given our limited kennel space, prompt pickup is essential.
Pickup Time Requirement:
Please collect your pet within 1 hour of being notified that their grooming session is complete. This allows us to maintain a calm and organized environment for all pets.
Late Pickup Fees:
If you are unable to pick up your pet within the 1-hour window, a late pickup fee of $10 will be applied. For each additional 30 minutes past the initial hour, an extra $10 fee will be charged. We kindly ask that you plan accordingly to avoid these additional charges.
Exceptions:
In certain situations, we may be able to accommodate a later pickup time with prior arrangement. Please contact us in advance if you need to discuss alternative pickup times.
Multiple Pets:
For dogs from the same household with overlapping appointments, they can be dropped off together and picked up within 1 hour after the last dog’s appointment concludes.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide exceptional care for your pet.
Matted/Neglected Coat
At K9 Connections, we prioritize the comfort and well-being of your pet. Due to this, we do not offer extensive de-matting services. If your pet’s coat is matted, it will need to be shaved.
Coat Treatment:
Matted Areas: Any mats will be addressed by shaving.
Ears and Tails: If these areas are not matted to the skin, they may be gently brushed out at our groomer's discretion.
Client Responsibility: By bringing your pet in, you acknowledge responsibility for the condition of their coat. K9 Connections LLC is not liable for any adverse effects resulting from mat removal. We will take care to minimize any reactions and ensure the best possible outcome for your pet.
Thank you for understanding and supporting our commitment to your pet’s comfort.
Parasites
At K9 Connections, we maintain a parasite-free environment to ensure the health and safety of all pets. We do not accept pets with fleas or ticks.
If Parasites Are Discovered:
During Service: If fleas or ticks are found during bathing or drying, we will use a flea shampoo on your pet.
Additional Fee: An additional $25 fee will be applied to cover the cost of the flea shampoo and cleaning/disinfecting of our facility.
Pet Re-Admission:
Treatment Required: Pets must be treated and confirmed 100% parasite-free before they can be rebooked.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all pets.
Satisfaction & Communication
It is always our goal to make your pet look and feel their best when they leave the salon. If you are unhappy with the service provided, please communicate with us within 48 hours of your appointment. We are happy to make minor adjustments that align with our original consultation and will arrange a time for you to return to the salon for us to make these changes. We do not offer refunds for services. An attempt to contact must be made through text or email to ensure we receive your message.
Pricing & Payment
Grooming prices are estimated and may vary greatly based on coat condition, skin condition, special handling, size, temperament, time, etc. All provided quotes are indicative and may not represent the final total after services have been completed. Pets who go longer between appointments or those with matted coats are subject to additional fees due to longer appointment times.
We accept cash, cash app, and Venmo. Please Note: If you are paying in cash, please ensure you have the correct amount on hand. We do not keep change in the salon for security purposes and the safety of our staff. Invoices must be paid the same day.
Vaccinations, Illness & Senior Pets
Vaccinations:
Rabies Requirement: Oregon state law requires all pets to have current rabies vaccinations. We will request proof of rabies vaccination and may refuse service if this requirement is not met.
Other Vaccinations: While we request that all pets are fully vaccinated, we will not refuse service for missing vaccinations other than rabies.
Responsibility: Clients are responsible for ensuring their pets are up-to-date on all vaccinations. K9 Connections is not liable for any illness resulting from a lack of vaccinations.
Illness:
Pre-Appointment: Inform us of any existing medical conditions that might affect the grooming session. If your pet shows symptoms of illness (e.g., coughing, diarrhea, or fever) before their appointment, please reschedule and seek veterinary care.
During Grooming: If symptoms are observed during grooming, the appointment will be canceled, and the pet will be returned to you. Full payment will be required.
Senior Pets:
Care and Limitations: Senior pets may be more susceptible to stress and accidents during grooming. We will prioritize their comfort and cleanliness, though some services might not be performed.
Liability: K9 Connections will exercise due care to ensure the safety of senior pets, but we will not be held liable in the event of an accident.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide the best care for your pet.
Behavior & Safety
At K9 Connections Grooming, we are dedicated to ensuring a safe and stress-free experience for every pet. We do not accept pets exhibiting aggressive or unsafe behavior.
Acceptance of Pets:
Pets displaying extreme behaviors such as struggling, biting, nipping, or high stress will be returned to their owner without completing the grooming process. We aim to minimize stress and avoid forcing any pet through the grooming process.
Partial Services:
If only partial services can be performed due to the pet's behavior, charges will be based on the duration of the grooming time completed.
Safety Equipment:
K9 Connections reserves the right to use necessary safety equipment, including but not limited to leashes, soft muzzles, grooming loops, and soft collars, if needed.
Injury and Emergency Protocol:
In the event of an accidental injury, we will notify you immediately and discuss the best course of action. If an emergency occurs and we cannot reach you, you authorize K9 Connections to take your pet to the nearest veterinarian. Communication with your veterinarian is required for billing and reimbursement purposes. It is the pet owner’s responsibility to inform us of any pre-existing conditions to help us avoid aggravating them.
